72 HOLE SCRATCH STROKE PLAY TOURNAMENT |

FOUNDER’S PURPOSE |
|
|
|
|
|
The original objective was to promote the benefits of the “large ball” in top level competitive golf. With this accepted, the objectives now are to stimulate fair play, improve standards of etiquette, dress and the avoidance of slow play in top-level amateur golf. |

|
|
|
DRESS |
|
|
|
|
|
All competitors and companions are required to comply with Club Rules. Smart casual attire is acceptable in the Clubhouse. Neat trousers, shirts and sweaters are accepted on the course. Jeans and training shoes are not accepted under any circumstances. |

|
|
CONDITIONS OF PLAY |
|
|
|
|
|
The Tournament is open to all male golfers and will be played by stroke play over 72 holes. Competitors will play one round on each of the first 2 days. After 36 holes the leading 40 competitors and ties will play a further 36 holes on the third day. |

|
|
|
The Winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest scratch score over 72 holes |
|
|
Handicap limited to 1.0 and better |
|
|
The Tournament shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrew’s and such Local Rules as shall be approved by the Tournament Committee whose Decision is final. |

|
PRIZES AND VOUCHERS |
|
|
|
|
|
The Tillman Trophy shall be held for one year by the winner, in the event of a tie the results shall be by sudden death play-off. Arrangements must be made by the winner to have the trophy returned to Wesley Cooper at Moor Park Golf Club by May of the following year. Prizes or vouchers will be awarded to the best five scores recorded over 72 holes in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status. |

ENTRIES |
|
|
|
|
|
Entries must be made on the official entry form or via https://tillmantrophy.intelligentgolf.co.uk. In the case of a person who is a member of a Golf Club in Great Britain and Ireland the playing handicap certificate must be signed by the Secretary or Handicapping Authority of his home club. . |

All entries must be sent to:-
and must be accompanied by the entrance fee of £90.00, cheques payable to Tillman Trophy. Alternatively entries maybe made directly via https://tillmantrophy.intelligentgolf.co.uk/. Entries will be limited to 120. In the event of applications exceeding this number, entry for higher handicaps will be decided by ballot. All unsuccessful applicants will be informed without delay and will be placed on a reserve list according to handicap, and their entrance fee will be refunded if they are not given a match number.
Entrance fees will only be refunded if notice is given prior to the draw being made on June 19th. All entries shall be subject to the approval of the Tournament Committee which reserves the right to accept or refuse entry without giving any reason for its decision, which will be final. |

The draw will be made on Friday 19th June and will be sent out to the Players and their Clubs via email to the addresses supplied and uploaded to https://tillmantrophy.intelligentgolf.co.uk/ by Tuesday 23rd June. |
